TIGERS WRAP REGULAR SEASON AT MISSOURI BAPTIST SPRING INVITATIONAL

ALTON, Ill. – Lorenzo Mariotti‘s impressive first round helped lead the Olivet Nazarene University men’s golf at their final regular season tournament, the Missouri Baptist Spring Invitational, Monday and Tuesday at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.

Mariotti, a three-time CCAC Men’s Golfer of the Week recipient this season, fired a 1-over 73 in the tournament’s opening round Friday, paving the way for a 154 final score and a tie for 14th place.

Jordan Evans also carded a solid first round with a 2-over 74 Friday. This got him to a 157, placing Evans in a four-way tie for 20th alongside his teammate Chris Brown, who shot a 75-82 to reach the 157.

Jack Busch rounded out the scoring for ONU in 43rd place at 166 (81-85). Hunter Trainor carded a 167 (82-85) and Jack Rimington, who played individually at the tournament, fired a 169 (79-90).

The Tigers finished seventh with a 634 (303-331).

ONU will now host the CCAC Men’s Golf Championships at the Cinder Ridge Golf Course in Wilmington, Ill., Apr. 29-30.
